摘要
The American philosophical transcendentalism mid-nineteenth century is the first of the philosophical movements of American roots. Influenced by individualism and the Unitarian Church, this movement develops a particular way of understanding the union between man, God and nature. Because the human being is an active agent of the universe, political and artistic events will be in line with this individualistic trend. In this sense, throughout the article we will investigate the influence of philosophical trascedentalism through the work of two authors: Ralph Waldo Emerson and Emily Dickinson, exposing existing influences across disciplines.
