摘要
The freshwater fish, Cyprinus carpio was acclimated to sublethal acid medium (pH 5.0). The acclimated and non-acclimated fish were exposed to lethal acidic medium (pH 4.5) and their hepatic tissue metabolism was compared with the control fish. The hepatic tissue of acclimated fish showed maximum suppression of oxygen consumption with accumulation of ammonia for neutralization of acidity, which seems to provide survival value to the fish in acidic environment.
