摘要
Poly(ester-anhydride)s based on terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid and bisphenol-A were prepared in two ways, either by polycondensation with acetic anhydride or via the ''silyl method''. The copoly(ester-anhydride)s prepared by means of acetic anhydride possess a higher degree of crystallinity and lower solubility probably due to a greater blockiness of their sequence. Soluble and meltable poly(ester-anhydride)s were obtained by cocondensation of terephthaloylchloride with silylated bisphenol-A and silylated 4-hydroxybenzoic acid or 6-hydroxynaphthoic acid. They were characterized by elemental analyses, viscosity measurements, i.r. spectra, C-13-NMR spectra, DSC measurements, WAXS powder patterns and optical microscopy. The copoly(ester-anhydride) with the highest molar fraction of 6-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid forms a nematic melt above its melting point at 250-degrees.
