The technical-scientific-informational environment as a face of Brazilian geographical space since 1970s, it was, necessarily, forged by the presence of science and technical information. These elements were unevenly spread in space and time in Brazilian municipalities, especially in those least developed ones. In this context, we seek to understand the passage from technical environment to a scientific-technical-informational environment in Sao Bento, Paraiba - Brazil, from its relations with the innovative processes of textile industry of hammocks. This study results from previous discussions taken in some of our others works (2001, 2006 and 2011) based on Santos (1999). Each development stage of textile industry has a set of innovative products and processes that have resulted from a particular geographical environment. So during the handcraft period emerged the technical environment, in the manufacturing period had arisen the scientific and technical environment, and finally in the industrial period came the local technical-scientific-informational environment.
