Pica - Is it a variant of obsessive-compulsive disorder? A case report

摘要：
Pica is currently classified as a 'feeding and eating disorder of infancy or early childhood' in the DSM-IV. While the primary manifestation thereof is the consumption of nonnutritive substances, this condition may be phenomenologically related to obsessive-compulsive disorder. We present a case to illustrate this and propose a biological hypothesis that supports such a relationship.
