摘要：
Ray theory of conversion of higher waveguide modes is given. A converter includes a waveguide launcher and a system of mirrors. The reflecting surface of the mirror is determined to be bievolvent with respect to caustics of original and formed waves. The efficiency of mirror converters is estimated within the framework of geometrical optics.
