摘要
In the Latin American culture, particularly among the youth, the habit of postponing things up to the last moment is deeply rooted. This habit is known with the name of procrastination. This paper is the fruit of an investigation project about the topic, which main objective was to determine the procrastination level in students of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador in Santo Domingo (PUCE SD). The methodology had a non-experimental, transversal design. The population was formed by the students of PUCE SD and the intentional sample were the students of second, fourth and sixth level of all majors offered by PUCE SD. The conclusions of this study, result of the application of well documented instruments, frequently used in other parts of the world to measure this phenomenon, reveal that in the University exists a high tendency towards procrastination.
