HEAT PIPE EXTENSION BATH FOR CALIBRATION OF LONG STEM THERMOMETERS AGAINST STANDARD PLATINUM RESISTANCE THERMOMETER

摘要
An extension bath to be used with commercially available low-depth automatic temperature controlled bath-cum-circulators, based on the principle of heat pipe, has been designed. The bath has been used for the calibration of long stem thermometers against the standard platinum resistance thermometer. The stability of the bath has been studied in the temperature range -65-degrees-C to 90-degrees-C. The overall stability in the range -65-degrees-C to 0-degrees-C was observed to be better than +/- 0.02-degrees-C and in the temperature range 0-degrees-C to 90-degrees-C the stability was observed to be better than +/- 0.01-degrees-C.
