PAPER-MILL INTO MUSEUM, - THE ALTE-DOMBACH MILL NEAR COLOGNE

The Regional Association of the Rheinland will convert the former paper mill Alte Dombach in Bergisch Gladbach into a museum on the history of manufacture and importance of paper. The museum will exhibit preindustrial papermaking with rebuilt stamping machines and papermakers' vats, and industrial production by means of original machines of the 19th and early 20th century. A paper machine dating from the year 1889 is already on exhibition. The following gives the history of Arte Dombach mill and the concept of the museum.
