ELECTROCHEMICAL REACTION-RATE CALCULATIONS IN THE PRESENCE OF SURFACE-ACTIVE SUBSTANCES

摘要
A model is examined where the electron-transfer step is preceded by a reversible step involving the penetration of depolarizer particles into the surface layer. Methods are presented which can be used to calculate parameter r//1 and s//1 governing electrochemical reaction rates in the presence of surface-active substances (surfactants). The method used to estimate parameter r//1 was rationalized by analysis of the experimental data. It is shown that the experimental and theoretical values found for parameter s//1 in the electroreduction of Zn**2** plus , Cd**2** plus , and Cr**2** plus in the presence of n-butyl alcohol are in satisfactory mutual agreement.
