摘要
The diatom data used for reconstructing pH within the Surface Water Acidification Project (SWAP) came from several different laboratories. One of the aims of the project was to construct a single-large pH calibration dataset, by combining modern lake pH values with modern surface-sediment diatom assemblages and to use the calibration to reconstruct past lake pH values from the assemblages in sediment cores. The laboratories used agreed nomenclature and standardized identifications by using quality control techniques. A diatom database (DISCO) stored and processed counts and site information. -from Authors
