摘要
This article analyzes the integration of emotional intelligence with intellectual skills or cognitive capacities of the manager, to develop the managerial function from a holistic perspective that favors managing interpersonal relations, the organizational climate and work performance, aspects that have a determining effect on organizational success. Based on the postulates of Goleman (2000), Cooper and Sawaff (1998), Thomson and Rodriguez (2000), Edvinson and Malone (1998), authors expert in emotional intelligence, emotional capital and intellectual capital, the study presents a form of modern management that is not far from traditional guidelines based on cognitive aspects of the leader, but that integrates them with emotional aptitudes, thereby intermixing intellectual capital with emotional capital in order to promote optimism, enthusiasm, confidence, motivation and learning in the organization. Supported by the theoretical review and analysis of the above-mentioned authors regarding the relevance of emotional and intellectual capital, currently considered to be intangible assets that generate competitiveness and business wealth, a management style called Cognitional Management is proposed that integrates "mind and emotions." As part of the proposal, the fundamental principles on which it is based are established, in order to orient the manager's attitude in any type of organization.
