摘要
For many questions in various fields of science and technology the available microscopic insight must be complemented by detailed (micro)spectroscopic information for a complete understanding. This is the reason for considerable recent activities in the development of different microspectroscopes based on the detection of photo-excited electrons. This article gives a short overview of these efforts with special emphasis on those instruments that use synchrotron radiation and are suitable for X-ray absorption studies. Our own activities, a photon-induced scanning Auger microscope which is also suitable for spatially resolved photoemission and a new ambitious project based on a collaboration of several groups, are also briefly introduced.
