CATALAN PUBLIC OPINION BEFORE AND AFTER 27S

The possible independence of Catalonia has been and is an issue with a broad appeal to social scientists and the media, but in recent years it has received special attention from the impetus that Catalan independence parties have given to the secessionist process. When we present this process we must take into account its complexity, as there are many aspects involved in it: historical, social, economic, political, etc. And it is further complicated when included in the analysis the various actors and points of view existing. From this article, based on data from the Centre d'Estudis d'Opinio, we expect to analyze the Catalan public opinion in this respect, before and after the elections to the Catalan parliament in September 2015, to consider it as a major centre of attention of political and social actors while it is used as a source of legitimation and delegitimation.
