摘要：
The problem of damped vibration of suspension bridges is considered. A formula is developed which enables one to determine the critical wind velocity for structures characterized with different parameters. To check the correctness of the formula, numerical calculations were performed for the Tacoma bridge. The paper also contains tables which may be useful in calculation of critical velocity for different suspension bridges.
