摘要
In this article texts from the Old Testament usually quoted in the context of homosexuality are discussed. As an introduction to the subject some remarks are made on the grounding of marriage in the creation narratives and the ethical-religious themes of holiness and purity. Next the tales of Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 18-19) and Gibeah (Judg. 19), the prohibitions in Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13-23 as well as references to temple prostitution are investigated. The conclusion is that homosexuality is described in the Old Testament as an act leading to unholiness and impurity that disqualifies the participant from the presence of the Lord and causes blood-guilt. In conclusion the question is asked whether Old Testament ethical-ritual pronouncements are still valid for modern Christian believers.
