PROGRESSIVENESS OF A FARMER IN DEVELOPING-COUNTRIES - A CONCEPTUAL-FRAMEWORK

Progressiveness in agriculture is mostly used to express innovativeness, modernity and entrepreneurship. When such a concept is expressed with non-manipulative personal characteristics, it becomes difficult to bring out a progressive change. In a developing country, personal characteristics are less determining than socio-structural ones. Therefore, a concept of ''social progress'' was also comprehanded. Thereafter, six activities of progressiveness have been operationalised. This may help in developing a training programme on progressiveness of farmers.
