摘要
The incidence of venous thromboembolic events in pediatric differs regarding the age (neonates/older children). The genesis of deep venous thrombosis needs the intervention of three factors: the vessel wall, blood flow and the composition of the circulating blood. The presence of a central catheter is a major cause of occurrence of DVT in the population of children hospitalized in pediatric intensive care. We will not discuss in this work the specificities of pulmonary embolism nor will detail the specific treatment of congenital diseases of hemostasis responsible of thrombotic events in children. We will focus on the main risk factors responsible of venous thrombosis in children, the biological and imaging points of diagnosis and principles of treatment (curative and preventive).
