摘要
Pb1-xEuxTe/PbTe quantum wells with wide barriers (dB =20-50 nm, x < 3%) and PbTe wells (dQW = 5.3⋯ 15.6 nm) were grown by molecular beam epitaxy on Pb1-xEuxTe buffers (d = 1⋯ 5 μm) and characterized by high resolution x-ray diffraction. Interband photoluminescence (PL) was studied in applied magnetic fields up to 7 T. Far and midinfrared transmission experiments gave information on transitions involving higher subbands as well. The results are analyzed using an envelope function calculation and yield information on the conduction and valence band offsets. © 1993 Academic Press. All rights reserved.
