摘要
Defecography by magnetic resonance imaging has become a useful technique for assessing pelvic floor disorders in the last few year. The possibility to observe the anatomy and functioning of the pelvic structures has advantages with respect to conventional defecography. This article attempts to describe the most relevant anatomical and pathological aspects of the pelvic floor, as well as to present a study protocol for its assessment, based on fast spin-echo T2-weighted sequences and dynamic FIESTA sequences.
