AN ANALYSIS OF GROWTH OF PRODUCTIVITY OF PADDY IN POST-REFORM PERIOD IN ODISHA

In post-reform period, in paddy producing areas, farmers are more accessible to new ideas and interested to take risks by using high yielding seeds, machine labour, hired labour and applying high dose of fertilizer, pesticides, insecticides, etc. As a result of which, the production of paddy is growing and accomplishing self reliance, household food security as well as serving as a means to tone down the age old problem relating to hunger and poverty in under developed Asian countries including India.
