摘要
Brazil is currently in population aging process, Foz do Iguacu - PR follows the same trend. This demographic transition influences the labor market, because with a greater life expectancy, many older people will continue to work. The objective of analyzing the insertion of the elderly who work in the labor market in the city of Foz do Iguacu, this research, by means of semi-structured interviews, sought to know the companies' perspective and elderly employees concerning in the elderly's work. Both for employees 60 years old and older, and for managers, senior employees are meeting the labor needs and, in many cases, surpass in quality and accountability the work of the youngest. The elderly who keep working do so mainly because of the need to income supplement and to remain active and in society. They demonstrate their accumulated experiences in a job seen as exemplary by the managers. Being old is not synonymous with disability. Getting old is something natural and insert or keep seniors in the work environment also happened to be.
