Where does the day go? Addiction to 5-minute tasks and management by crisis

摘要：
Learning principles help explain how managers can become behaviorally addicted to completing small tasks and avoiding large tasks. Recognizing the pattern, tracking time on tasks, and appropriately using reinforcers can be helpful in modifying ineffective patterns. Mechanisms contributing to management by crisis and recommendations for remediation are discussed.
