摘要
This text introduces the transformations and challenges now found in general adult training in Quebec, an educative sector that intends to make basic training available for everyone. It describes the principal social, demographic, cultural and economic factors that play a role in important changes in the organization and the offer and benefits of educational services, training and accompaniment. The account especially emphasizes the challenges posed by the emergence of new profiles for adult learners, the establishment of a new curriculum and the implementation of mechanisms for recognizing acquired competencies. The authors recall several studies that reflect these changes while emphasizing that research carried out in this field neglects certain issues. In conclusion, the analysis notices that the evolution observed is not strictly one of change or adaptation but rather one of a systemic transformation that tends to modify the primary mission of basic training.
