摘要：
The occurrence of gold in manganese oxide ore found in Wau, Papua New Guinea, is discussed. Most of the gold in this ore is free but for about 20% which is intimately associated with the manganese oxides. A new extraction technique comprising cyanidation followed by HCl plus H//2O//2 leaching has been used to extract over 99. 5% of the gold from the ore.
