IS HERNIOGRAPHY INDICATED FOR THE DIAGNOSIS OF INGUINAL AND ABDOMINAL-HERNIAS

The role of herniography in patients with unexplained pain in the groin or anterior abdominal wall is discussed and referred to that of other imaging modalities. The technique of herniography, its indications and contraindications, and anatomical aspects are dealt with. A series of 81 patients who underwent herniography is presented and the results arc correlated with findings at surgery.
