FEATURES OF STRUCTURE FORMATION DURING THERMOMECHANICAL TREATMENT OF STEEL FOR COLD DIE FORMING

摘要
To establish the role of the sequence of operations during preparation of metal for cold die forming and to determine the optimum process parameters, an investigation was made of the influence of deformation (drawing) and annealing on the structure formation, texture, and level of properties of drawn 35 'select' steel. Results have been used to develop technology for producing drawn steel for cold die forming, including acclerated cooling from rolling heat, drawing with 21-40% deformation, and recrystallisation-spheroidising annealing at subcritical temperature for 2-5 h.
