STRUCTURAL AND THERMODYNAMIC ASPECTS OF ELECTRON-DIFFRACTION BY LITHIUM-FLUORIDE DIMERS

Electron-diffraction and spectral data for Li2F2 have been combined to derive the equilibrium parameters, force field in the harmonic approximation, and vibrational frequencies inactive in the IR spectrum. The proportions of the molecular forms in the saturated vapor have been derived for 1360 +/- 50 K, and the enthalpy and entropy have been determined for the reactions Li2F2 reversible 2LiF and 3Li2F2 reversible 2Li3F3.
