摘要：
The medulla of the gymnotoid fish Gymnotus carapo contains two large neurons exhibiting all the characteristics of Mauthner cells (M-cells). Their presence was demonstrated by means of Golgi-like labeling with horseradish peroxidase. This is the first description of M-cells in a fish belonging to the order Gymnotiformes. © 1990 Birkhäuser Verlag.
