THE RESISTANCE TO NATIONAL SOCIALISM IN ALFRED ANDERSCH'S NOVEL "ZANZIBAR OR THE LAST REASON"

lf it is necessary to mention Literary life in Germany, we cannot neglect to talk about "Sansibar oder der letzte Grund" by Andersch. Their fate makes five persons meet in a small town by Baltic Sea. Each of them won't to go to dream country Sansibar behind the far seas because different reasons like political and ideological pressure, unwanted relations, narrow environment and private reasons. in order to escape from captivity, an icon of symbolic "Student of Monastery" was refleded as the leader. This icon is the symbol of personal and holy liberty, that is, a symbol against Hitler's Regym. As in Andersch's other works, was refleded in this work as well, the story of pain suffered by persons and society being hold under pressure and torture. in this study, the resistance against National Socialism by five people united by fate is told.
