摘要：
This paper investigates methods of electronically filtering Lord Byron's epic poem Don Juan, singling out the names of persons mentioned in the text. Several steps of systematically reducing lists of words starting with capital letters are described. The methodology involved can be applied to a large number of machine-readable versions of English verse, and the sorting, collating and filtering can in most cases be done with standard word-processing software.
