THE ETERNAUT: THE READINGS OF A CLASSIC COMIC BOOK TODAY

The purpose of this article is to expose specific results of an academic research on the reception of Hector German Oesterheld's comics, especially his title El Eternauta. We make a theoretical approach to relate the construction of meaning for new generations of readers with several factors: the reader and its life history, the author's trajectory of consecration, and the historical moment of consumption. Also, we propose a general conclusion based on some working hypothesis and the subsequent analytical and interpretive work research, that suggests that there is a close relationship between the process of canonization and consecration of Oesterheld and a significant presence of senses related with the current political and social reality, manifested in the consumption of their most recognized comic.
