摘要
Article 2 of the Climate Convention implies a major reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in order to stabilize the global climate system. The fossil free energy scenario project was set up to evaluate the technical, economic and policy implications of substantially reducing fossil fuel energy use and developing an energy-efficient system utilizing renewable energy sources. It utilized a range of climate, energy and economic models. Study results indicate the technical feasibility and generally resonable economic implications. The policy responses required to achieve such a transformation will need to be extensive and sustained.
