DEVELOPMENT OF ALTERNATIVE MAGNETIC CORE MATERIALS AND INCENTIVES FOR THEIR USE

摘要
There is a world wide demand for cheap low loss electrical steels for use in transformer cores and rotating electrical machines. Traditionally silicon-iron alloys have been used as core materials but over recent years there has been much discussion and some development of alternative materials. This paper reviews recent developments, summarises the advantages and disadvantages of the competing technologies and attempts to predict the possible future trends.
