Going beyond the frontier: The transbordo as critical concept

Based on the pre-defined strategy of, "Reading people from their loci", it is proposed, in this article, the problematization of the new concepts: transhipment (a top priority) and the trocadilo. Under the interlocutory perspective with Cultural Studies, this research focuses on Estamira character, featured in the film-documentary under the same name by Marcos Prado. Estamira's speech, as well as the exploration of the transshipment, in contrast to other "places" such as the border, underpins the proposition analysis.
