摘要
The temperature dependence of main-chain scission and mass loss by depropagation to monomer has been determined for gamma-irradiation of poly(methyl methacrylate), poly(phthalaldehyde), poly(isobutene) and poly(alpha-methyl styrene). Radiation greatly enhanced the thermal degradation. The yield of main-chain scission also increased markedly with temperature, particularly when the calculation of G(scission) was corrected for the decreasing dose rate due to the mass loss. The behaviour of these polymers was compared with polystyrene and poly(arylene sulfone).
