NATIONAL ACTION PLAN FOR COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL-HEALTH EDUCATION

All individuals and organizations interested in school health and in education are invited to use the National Action Plan as a guide in developing your own objectives and interventions in Comprehensive School Health Education (CSHE). No one organization can guarantee the success of CSHE, but by using this plan as a guide, we can all work within a context that will create targeted action on specific areas of need. As you review the plan, make note of the specific actions that you or your organization can best undertake. Coordinate with other organizations listed in the plan who may be logical partners in a specific effort. And, keep in mind that the success of this plan depends on your ability to commit to actions and to implement specific interventions. Though it is the intent of those who participated in developing the National Action Plan that it be read in its entirety, it is understood that you may review sections selectively. In order to ensure that each section is complete unto itself, repetition across issue areas has been left as originally drafted by the workshop participants. Feel free to focus on a critical issue that is of most interest or concern to you or your organization. The plan is an attempt to facilitate a coordinated effort among all of those individuals and organizations who care about health and education. It is a guide for creating a strong and lasting impact on the children of this country.
