Onset of Triple-Diffusive Convection in a Nanofluid Layer

The present article deals with the problem of triple-diffusive convection in a horizontal nanofluid layer heated and salted from below. The analysis is carried out within the framework of linear stability theory and normal made technique. The effects of the solute Rayleigh numbers, concentration Rayleigh number, Lewis number and modified diffusivity ratio on the stability of the system are investigated analytically. The critical Rayleigh number for the onset of instability is determined numerically and results are depicted graphically. The sufficient conditions for the non-existence of overstability are also derived.
