摘要：

This article aims to present the main reflections arising from an institutional visit to the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML) of Palmas - TO. It presents concepts and impasses deployment of a professional practice that meets warmly victims who need of the services offered by the agency. Throughout the work are some theoretical concepts about the inner workings of the service, as well as the main challenges encountered by the technical staff to carry out their work. Finally, we suggest some interventions in order to improve the routine of professionals and the region, promoting an action in empathic and assertive health, aimed at the care and intervention in crisis situations.
