The current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic caused non-attendance at the usual workplace; then, telework emerged as a necessary modality for a sector of people forced to comply with labor and economic commitments. The implementation of this modality compromises personal life and requires monitoring of the worker's health and safety. This article aimed to describe teleworking and occupational diseases, taking into account the current situation, pretending to be an educational and preventive means of information for workers. The research was based on obtaining and analyzing scientific information resources obtained from recognized online search engines in the academic-scientific field. Structured information is presented that aims to reflect on the current health situation, as well as aspects related to telework, such as its legality, advantages and disadvantages and, finally, occupational diseases, to know what is necessary about its identification and most likely typology when it comes of the teleworking modality, as in the case of teachers and office workers. We concluded that, although teleworking can be beneficial in this time of pandemic, it also presents ergonomic and psychosocial disadvantages and risks that threaten occupational health and safety. These risks leave behind the possibility of conditioning an occupational disease that, despite the limitations for its confirmation, does not avoid suspecting that it is expressed as a musculoskeletal or mental disorder.
