ON THE DOPANT OF POLYPYRROLE OBTAINED FROM CHEMICAL OXIDATION USING TETRAHALOBENZOQUINONES

摘要
The oxidation of pyrrole with p-chloranil results in the formation of polypyrrole and 2-(pyrrol-2-yl)-3,5,6-trichloro-1,4-benzoquinone. The formation of this pyrrolylquinone explains the presence of chloride anion as one of dopants of the corresponding polypyrrole. On the basis of these reactions the structure of the other dopants is suggested.
