A new species of Gekkonidae is described as Gekko grossmanni sp. nov. on the basis of 10 adult and 2 juvenile specimens. It lives in southern Vietnam and is closely related to G. petricolus and the recently described G. ulikovskii and G. badenii. Its main characteristics are a conspicuous pattern of whitish spots and dark bluish and grey marbles, blotches and strokes on a yellowish background over the whole body except on the under side; 12 - 14 preanal pores in males; small and weakly keeled tubercles on the upper side; a not clearly segmented tail; maximum 4 flat tubercles on the proximal caudal segments; no tubercles on hind legs.
