COVARIANT QUANTIZATION OF CHIRAL BOSON IN BATALIN-FRADKIN-VILKOVISKY SCHEME

摘要
The scheme developed by Batalin, Fradkin and Vilkovisky (BFV) to convert a second class constrained system to that of a first class (having gauge invariance) is used in the Floreanini-Jackiw formulation of the chiral boson. Explicit expressions of the BRS charge and the unitarizing Hamiltonian are provided. The equivalence between the BFV quantized system and its gauge fixed counterpart representing the original chiral boson is discussed.
