摘要：
A relatively simple analytical method for the evaluation of the risks of transmission line circuit breaker interruption failures is suggested based on the breaker stress strength model. Probabilistic criteria are defined for the interrupting current breaker rating, providing optimum investment, repair (replacement) and energy supply interruption costs for the planning period. An illustrative, real-life application example is included.
