CHOOSING BASSWOODS FOR A BEE FORAGE PLANTING .2.

Aspects of seasonal blooming pattern, prebloom period, and tree size are discussed from the context of choosing a basswood for a bee forage planting. Evidence is presented that the prebloom period for basswoods can be shortened. A short List of desirable Tilia species for use as bee forage is developed and information about obtaining desirable Tilia specimens is presented.
