摘要:
This article belongs to a Ph.D. thesis research on the ideas about national languages generated by primary school books. We will specifically analyze the relation between the dialogic style that prevails in school books as a strategy to encourage the development of knowledge through trigger questions, and the displacement of the teacher's role as a guide in class. The research hypothesis is that publishing companies, assisted by the teachers' training and employment conditions, make decisions that affect the content and the method used in class. To prove this statement, we will analyze, firstly, the presence of dialogue as a central stylistic trait in school books. Then, we will provide examples of the direct relation established by the school book with its readers, avoiding the teacher. And finally, we will ponder the characteristics of their training and their working conditions in order to assess the context which makes possible the huge influence of publishing companies on teaching guidelines.
