Zero-pressure Joule-Thomson coefficient and exponential-six intermolecular potential

摘要
The zero-pressure Joule-Thomson coefficient mu degrees. is computed for the modified Buckingham exponential-six intermolecular potential as a function of the reduced temperature in the range 0.45 to 100 and for seven values of the potential parameter which determines the steepness of the repulsive limb viz., 120-0.5-15.0. These results are compared with the values available in the literature for the Lennard-Jones 12-6 potential. The present calculations and analysis will help considerably in estimating the Joule-Thomson coefficient with a higher degree of reliability and also in determining the interaction potentials where experimental data of mu degrees are available as a function of temperature.
