Economic and technical development trends are discussed and recently introduced resins and catalysts indicated. Recent developments in the epoxy resin field include resin/catalyst systems which have been specially developed for specific applications. They include systems containing latent catalysts, in which cationic polymerization of the epoxide groups can be initiated through UV light or heat, as well as special resins developed for electronics applications, in which UV curing combined with conventional curing opens up new possibilities for using these resins for printed circuit production.
