摘要
The article analyzes Russian original and translated works of the XVIII century, dedicated to the heroes of the world and sacred history, yet ending with a Eulogy to Peter I. Russian translation of the "Letter, where Alexander the Great is compared with Charles XII" by the classic of Danish literature, Holberg. L., and two "Lives": of St. Peter and Alexei, Man of God, included in the "Alphabet, that`s built with rhymes" by Chernigov Metropolitan John Maximovitch - are in the center of this study. The peculiarities of the Russian "Letter" (including not quite a logical ending) are detected when confronting with the Danish version of Holberg. Since Peter's theme appears in the translation of a work dedicated to the Swedish king Karl XII, and the book of St. John Maximovich is published during the Great Northern war, the paper refers to the works of the Swedish authors of the XVII-XVIII centuries., confronting "domestic" Charles with Alexander the Great, and Peter - with the Apostle Peter Produces reasons for the relevance of the given panegyric`s endings and raises the question about the use of this technique when creating the Swedish and Russian invective texts.
