摘要
The article aimed to detail the factors that hinder the application of critical thinking and to point out possible lines of research that may be of interest in this. It was based on a bibliographic review in Scopus regarding the terms "critical thinking" in the title of the articles and "critical thimking" in the title of the document and "education" in the keywords. In the first case, a total of 433 documents were obtained, between the years 2004-2015. In the second, a total of 64 documents were obtained for the period 2005-2015. The analysis of the trends of the publications found revealed that critical thinking is a topic of interest not only for education but in other disciplines. Challenges for the application of critical thinking in education were discussed, including those related to the fulfillment of the standards of critical thinking and those that come from the current form of evaluation. As important research lines were identified: conceptual and philosophical bases of critical thinking, pedagogical strategies for the application of critical thinking in the different levels and subjects and application of mapping and visualization techniques.
